Green Medieval Dress

Green Medieval Dress
It’s unbelievable how much fabric there is on such a medieval dress. I decided on a heavy dark green scrim with a light fabric in light green for the sleeves. The dress is closed on the back with a long lacing.

It became a huge green sack with extremly wide fluttery sleeves :-)

Making of …

Actually this should have been a quickly done work for the Spectaculum in 2010. However house-hunting, renovation, the move and a conference came first, so it was completed much later than expected.

For the dress I used the McCall’s Costumes pattern M4491 which I did not change. Cost of material was about 80 EUR.

Spectaculum 2011
Made for the Spectaculum 2010, but finished too late, I wore it at the Specatculm 2011 for the first time :-)

I had to get used to the train, there were people stepping on it permanently. But although there was constantly standing someone on my train, the dress made it through the day unharmed except for the usual dustiness ;-)

Status: in my Klamottenkiste and I wear it at medieval events
