This beautiful victorian dress out of coppery flock-taffeta and plenty of black laceband is pure Steampunk. It consists of a plain skirt, a bum-pillow, a bustled overskirt and a delightful jacket.

To get a greater shape for the whole thing, you can wear for example the long Petticoat underneath and a corset, so that the jacket fits just perfectly.

Matching the outfit I made the Copper Leaflet and a Pompadour Bag.

This should have been my first machine sewn piece. That I dared to take on such a huge creation with my first sewing machine efforts was thanks to my dear friend Mel-Stichfest (she makes the most wonderful rococo gowns!) ;-)
But it wasn’t that easy after all. The easy pieces were done quickly, but the others like the jacket weren’t exactly beginners-stuff. So the dress was lying around in pieces for a long time.

The pattern is from Burda (7880) and the cost of material is around 100 EUR.
