This outfit is intended to be Steampunk for every day.
The knee-length cord skirt has a big octopus with a button eye one one side and the simple jersey shirt is decorated with an ocopus on the opposite side, but barely noticeable.

The outfit is complete with the matching brown Jersey Cuffs and the Octopus Earrings :-)

The simple pattern for the jersey shirt is taken from Burda (July 2006), the pattern for the skirt is self-made.
The artwork for the octopus embroidery was provided by Markus of Graf-Icks Designs.
The embroidery of the shirt is restrained and done only with a zigzag stitch and with the help of water-soluble embroidery backing.
The octopus on the cord skirt is a piece of taffeta attached with fusible Vliesofix, then embroidered and finished with a button as an eye :-)
