Airship Pirate

Airship Pirate
The idea for this costume took some time to turn into something concrete.
It should have a lond vest in any case and these beautiful wide pirate sleeves and trousers at knee-length.
So it almost became a classic pirate outfit, until I decided which pattern to use for the vest.
The pirate outfit turned into a Steampunk outfit just with the choice of fabric and the choice of this much loved and often used Steampunk-pattern.

The Emerald Gate Earrings from Sandra and a tiny little spy-glass on a chain around the neck completes the Outfit.
…but actually there should have been a tricorn too ;-)

Bold Balloonist

Bold Balloonist
Usually the Bold Ballonist is flying around in dizzy heights, always in search of new adventures.

Her outfit consists of an asymmetric blouse, trousers with ballon motives and a leather patchwork vest.
In addition to that she wears one single leather wrist warmer and a hairband and also the matching jewellery, the Balloon-Set.

Captain Nemo

Captain Nemo
Captain Nemo always was a very fascinating character for me.
Now here is my female version of him!

The “uniform” consists of a short jacket with long sleeves and a porthole-medal and a kneelength skirt. It looks great with a corset and a captain’s hat ;-)

The Nautlius Leather Bag and the Nautilus-Set are a perfect match for this outfit.

Nautilus Leather Bag

Nautlius Leather Bag
Shortly before going to the Aethercircus 2014 I needed a bag matching my Captain Nemo outfit.

The Bag is made out of blue leather and I sewed it completely by hand. The strap has buckles for length regulation at the front and at the back.
The flap is the natural edge of the leather piece and it ends in a little quick-release buckle.

There is a little slot for a porthole-magnifying-glass at the front to add a real submarine element to the style of the bag :-)

Completed: 2014

Status: in my Klamottenkiste and I used it for the first time at the Aethercircus 2014.

Men’s Vest

Men's Vest
Actually this vest was supposed to be a test piece for a larger project, but the finished vest is beautiful enough to get a side of its own here ;-)

The vest is made out of brocade fabric with dark violet roses on it, it has a lordly black lining and is closed with bronze-coloured buttons in one row.

There is also a black tie out of the beautifull lining fabric matching the vest.

Mourning Robe

Mourning Robe
There were strict rules for how long you had to go into mourning in the victorian times, depending on the degree of relationship and standing of the deceased and which could extend up to a whole year.
That is why a woman in a mourning dress was not a rare sight these days.

This outfit is a tailbodice and a lace-apron over a plain skirt.
Even the underwear, consisting of a petticoat and bloomers, is mourning-black.

The matching accessoiries are the Mourning Hat and the Bag for the Mourning Robe.

Mourning Hat
This hat is made for the Mourning Robe.

I used the pattern from Truly Victorian (TV550, 1880′s Buckram Hat Frame) once more, this time with the highest crown to match the era of the dress. I added some feathers and a black dotted veil.

Completed: 2014

Status: in my Klamottenkiste and was worn for the first time by Clara McCrimmon with the complete outfit at the fashion show of the Aethercircus 2014.

Tick-Tock Choker and Hairpin

Tick-Tock Choker and Hairpin
Hairpin and choker are made out of the same braid combination as seen on the Tick-Tock Dress and thereby they are the perfect accessories for the dress.
The clock face on the hairpin is a real one taken from an old out-of-order fob watch and is fixed with a little pearl.

Tick-Tock Dress
This cheeky little minidress, made out of clock face fabric and with a bicoloured lace trim, is absolutely Steampunk :-)

It becomes a complete outfit together with the Tick-Tock Bag and the Tick-Tock Choker and the Hairpin.

Tick-Tock Bag

Tick-Tock Bag
The bag got its form from the clock face print of the fabric. It consists simply of two cut-out clock faces, which I stabilised with some fusible fleece, and one straight band with a zipper.
The seams are trimmed with a braid on the outside.

So the bag is the perfect accessory for the Tick-Tock Dress.
