Brown Leather Gloves

Brown Leather Gloves
These gloves are custom-built for the Ms Shelley Holmes costume.
Since the bodice has 3/4 sleeves, normal short bought gloves did not fit. So I had to make them myself to get the right length as well as the right colour.

My first attemps at making finger gloves rather frustrated me, but this time I am quite satisfied with the outcome. Leather has the advantage that you do not have to serge the edges. The disadvantage with leather is that the sewing by hand with two needles takes even longer.
I used the pattern B of the Butterick pattern B5370 as I did before when making the Dressy Gloves. But this time I made the fingers a bit longer.
I was lucky to find leather just in the right colour, so I did not have to colour it myself :-)

I tried to document the making of the gloves with some pictures ;-)
