Afternoon Tea Dress

Afternoon Tea Dress
I wanted to turn in the direction of the fashion just before the 1920s with this dress.
In those times the dresses had no longer floor-length and the waist was no longer corseted .

Though the sheer lace part at the back and the lace parts of the sleeves are quite daring for these times ;-)

This particular dress is an afternoon dress to me, suitable for having ones 5 o’clock tea :-)

There are the Black Butterfly Choker and the Afternoon Tea Bag as accessory for the dress.

Making of …

The basis for this dress was the Simplicity pattern 1772.
But right from the start I wanted it to be a two-piece, because I wanted to be able to wear especially the skirt separately.
So I cut the pattern in the middle, lengthened the blouse-part and put a lace-ruffle onto it.

Completed: 2013
