Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy
This fake-ivy-decorated costume is complete with a firey red wig and with the Poison Ivy Choker and also with the matching long glove. Even some ballerinas come with the outfit. Asymmetric and with seamingly organic fabrics this dress is definitely Poison Ivy-worthy.

Needless to say that this costume is most effective in combination with someone wearin the Harley Quinn-costume.

Making of …

Poison Ivy Draft
After a crazy we-want-to-dress-up-as-Harley-and-Ivy-thought with my friend Sandra, I had at once the idea for the costumes in mind. The first version for Poison Ivy you can see here in this draft.

The pattern is from Burda Style (11/2009), only the strap and the ruffels are added. The glove is from another magazin.

The dress and the glove consist of two layers, embroidered organza over green satin. The organza ruffels have another light green shimmering organza beneath.
Everything is decorated with fake-ivy, partly sewn on and the other part pinned on with little black safety-pins.

At the end I sewed some bought ballerinas in the remains of the green fabrics and decorated them with some ivy leaves.

Completed: 2011

Ivy with Catwoman
I wore the costume for the first time after the photoshoot at my Halloween party. Apart from Harley there were the Joker, Catwoman and even Batman, so we had a lot of fun with our costums ;-)

Status: in my Klamottenkiste and had its premiere at my Halloween party 2011 ;-)
